Our wonderful Chorus of 40+ voices will explore the rawness, the power, the allure, the sensuality, and the imperfection of the human body in this epic choral-movement project.
We are devising this program in collaboration with choreographer Coco Karol, integrating her groundbreaking "movement interviews"; a technique of eliciting deep human connection and insight by interviewing a subject while moving with them. Our Chorus singers will be both subjects and performers.
Who knows, our body might extend to the audience too.
This theatrical experience will presented in the one-of-a-kind space, the Irondale Center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
The musical programming will pivot on Vince Peterson's 20-minute work, "I Sing the Body Electric" set for brass and percussion to the texts of Walt Whitman.
The program will also include musical commentary on the subject of the human BODY from insightful choral repertoire. (less)
